Tekaaroa Adventist School has been a beacon of education and faith since its inception in 1975. It began with two dedicated mission workers who heeded the call to serve in the first half of that year. Their commitment inspired others, leading to additional workers joining in the latter half of the year. Initially known as Tekaaroa Seventh-day Adventist Primary School, it was established to cater primarily to Seventh-day Adventist children. However, guided by a greater purpose, the school has since expanded to serve the wider community, embodying the principles of inclusivity and service.
Over time, particularly during the years of Tai Turia, Tekaaroa opened its doors for a Preschool, taught by Tere Nelio. This initiative laid the foundation for early childhood education, which evolved and continued until 2012 when it was officially designated as Early Childhood Education (ECE). In 2016, in recognition of the integration of both ECE and Primary education under one institution, the school was renamed Tekaaroa Adventist School.
The contributions of principals and teachers over the years have been instrumental in nurturing generations of students. Each educator has played a vital role in shaping the mission and vision of the school, offering not only academic instruction but also spiritual guidance. As we reflect on their invaluable service, we honor their legacy and express gratitude for their commitment. We remember these mission workers not only for their historical impact but also for the lasting influence they continue to have on the lives of students and the community. Their dedication will be celebrated for years to come, reminding us all of the power of answering a noble call.

The Aitutaki church has been greatly enriched by the dedicated service of numerous pastors, Bible workers, and interns since its inception. This list reflects a strong legacy of spiritual leadership and devotion to the community, particularly intertwined with the educational mission of Tekaaroa Adventist School. Each individual has played a vital role in ministering to the congregation and supporting the school, fostering a nurturing environment for both spiritual growth and academic excellence. While most of them have been part of the growth of the school, some were involved even before its establishment, contributing to the foundational planning and vision to start a school in Aitutaki.
This early commitment to education laid the groundwork for the school's eventual opening, emphasizing the church's mission to provide not only spiritual guidance but also academic opportunities for the community's children. The synergy between the church and the school has been instrumental in nurturing generations of students and strengthening community ties, showcasing the transformative power of faith and education working hand in hand.
